Below are some frequently asked questions about our products.
What size should I choose on the NTS SLEDGE?
Start by assessing how much you will bring and how far you will go. For example, if you have a cabin that is a few kilometers from the car, you can choose to drive more times and not need the largest model. Don't buy a bigger toboggan than you need. It will be easier to store and handle it by hand if you take a smaller model.
Are there elevated "gooseneck" features to choose from for the NTS SLEDGE?
No, we do not manufacture raised tow hooks/goosenecks for our sleds. Some of the reasons are as follows: It becomes difficult to drive in loose snow as the sled is easily pushed down under the snow when the scooter descends, there is a weakening of the drawbar and there is a risk of it touching the ground when you pass a plow arm or a road.
How does the NTS SLEDGE fit more modern scooters that have the tow hook up high?
We have most models in a tall version that is 450mm up to the tow eye. This is the most common height that customers choose the most. It fits well up to 650mm. Although we recommend that the towbar should not be over 500mm so that the scooter does not feel wobbly.
How does the NTS SLEDGE fit slightly older scooters or widebands that have the towbar further down?
We have most models in a low version which is 380mm up to the draw eye. On the models that cannot be built lower, we can weld the sleeve to the pull on the underside of the drawbar and then obtain a lower attachment to the scooter's towbar.
Which model of the NTS SLEDGE is best suited for tent trips?
Winter tents have become a great success in recent years, and our models ARK190 and big sister ARK250 are perfect for that. This is because you have a wide and long load surface that can withstand very heavy loads. At the same time, you have a slightly lower coupling height and load height, which makes it easier to load and very stable.
What size sled should I choose?
If you do not need more than one bench for people, we recommend the 2-seat sled for best comfort. You have a slightly higher backrest that can also be folded to make a bed for a child or dog, better entry into the sled and a large luggage compartment. If, however, you need more seats, the 4-seater sled is perfect. Here you also have the option of lifting one seat to be able to pack a lot if you ever have fewer passengers.
Is it possible to have the NTS SLEDGE customized according to your own wishes?
Of course, it is possible to have both minor and major changes made to the sleds. We are happy to use our long experience to help you with your ideas.
Is it possible to mount a towbar at the back of the NTS SLEDGE?
Yes, the NTS Sled comes as standard with a straight tow bar that runs through the entire sled and a finished reinforcement at the back to easily fit a tow bar.
Are there different hardnesses on the plastic blades?
Yes, the NTS Sled comes with a standard hardness that has a good mix between flexibility and durability. If you often drive with a very heavy load or on partly bare ground, we can increase both the thickness and hardness of the plastic.
How to service the NTS SLEDGE?
It is very easy to service our sledges. In all large joints there are grease nipples where you grease at least once per season. Otherwise, you look over the guide steel and plastic parts continuously. All wearing parts are normally on the shelf with us for quick service.
Is there a solution if you need to have the sled across a 185cm trailer?
Yes, if you choose our accessory "split drawbar" you will get in all sleds with load dimensions of 164cm across
Is there a solution for driving on icy and sloping terrain? E.g. slalom slopes.
Yes, We have "alpine steering steel" that cuts into the ice when driving in difficult hard terrain.
